URICI and OCLC have signed an agreement for the integration of the catalogues of Red de Bibliotecas y Archivos del CSIC in Worldcat, the largest collective catalogue in the world, which contains 480 million bibliographic records and 2,800 million holdings of libraries around the world. For now, CSIC will contribute to Worldcat all the printed collections of its catalogues, both bibliographic and archival.

This agreement benefits both parties, the CSIC because it will give great visibility to its library and archive holdings and will be fully integrated into OCLC's interlibrary loan system (WorldShare), and OCLC because it enriches Worldcat with specialized holdings that are often difficult to find in other libraries.
