El pasado sábado 2 de marzo TV3 emitió una entrevista en el vestíbulo del CID en conmemoració del 150 aniversario de que Dmitri Mendeléiev presentó formalmente de la tabla periódica a la Societat Química de Rusia, dentro de la disertación titulada "La dependencia entre las propiedades de los pesos atómicos de los elementos, que describe los elementos de acuerdo con el peso atómico y valencia" del 6 de marzo de 1869.

Last July, our colleague and friend Víctor Carrer lost his life a few hours before defending his doctoral thesis work.

As a tribute, their thesis directors will present his thesis in the Faculty of Pharmacy in a reduced format and the members of the thesis committee will comment his contributions in the scientific field. Later in the IQAC will be established the Annual Extraordinary Doctorate Award "Víctor Carrer"

Currently, women and girls encounter barriers of many types, sometimes very subtle, that make their presence in science difficult. This inequality is evident in the choice of studies by girls and it becomes more acute as they advance in scientific and technological careers.

Appropriate selection of the implant biomaterial is a key factor for long term success of implants. The biologic environment does not accept completely any material. Implantation of medical devices within the body initiates a series of reactions, collectively called the foreign body response, which aims to eliminate or isolate the implanted foreign material from the host immune system.
